Artemis is back and so are a few of the demons who were sent back to Haven. The human and fairy worlds have changed and are due to change even more.
With the resignation fo Holly Short, the death of Commander Root and Ark Sool being stricken of his position as the commander of the whole LEP and Reconnaissance division, the Council faced with a decision to make. Who would be their successor? Holly Short, of course, would have been one of the top canidates but seeing that she is no longer an employed part of the LEP she is out of the question. In terms of the new LEP and Reconnaissance Commander, Clementine Termes has been chosen to be a temporary replacement.
Not all of the Eighth family made it back to their motherland: the moon. Some of them, as foretold, were sent to Earth with same vengeful demon instincts they had since their microorganismal states. Although, this time time they are even more wild without their leader, Leon Abbott. Speaking of him, since his end in he time-space continuum, the demons have converted back to their ancestral names and more barbaric instincts. A great number has settled in Haven, joining up with the goblin gangs causing havoc across the city.
Since Artemis's leave and return, many influential decisions and events have happened in the Human world as well. His old friend and personal protector, Butler has decided to finally retire. After the age stimulation he went through after being shot two years ago, he decided out of his fatigue that he would not be able to handle the action and turmoil that the Fowl heir often brought around with him. With careful consideration and deliberation with his old sensei, Madam Ko, he found a young Japanese lady by the name of Suzume Hamada who had been practicing martial arts for most of her life and had been training with Madam Ko for four years in Tibet and two years in Belarus. Barely out of her teenage years, her years of service would be the longest as she is only a month younger than Artemis. Ideally, another Butler would have taken his place but they only live Butler not in service is a mere babe. Moreover concerning the life of Artemis, he resumed to his financial affairs and submissions to the scientific, literary and arts society but his schemes may be even more elaborate now with the magic he stole when he was transported to Hybras. Lately, he has been executing experiments on himself trying to tame his magic to use it purposefully. What he has yet to do with his magic is still a mystery.
